Seas Apart Book Club Lunch Bunch

I cannot even begin to describe how much fun we are having.  We have now met three times and each time I walk away speechless, amazed, and EXCITED! It is beyond obvious that there are writers in this room. I wish everyone could be a fly on the wall to catch these amazing moments.  We have discussed plot, character development,  the balance between making the story realistic and fantasy, and so much more. Seas Apart Book Club

Over the holiday, a teacher read my manuscript. She loved it so much that she is forming the Seas Apart Book Club with a group of 5th graders. We will talk to them about the writing process, character development, editing, and publishing. I am over-the-moon excited. What a wonderful way to get feedback from my intended audience and for them to learn about the writing process at the same time. It’s a win-win and I cannot wait to get started!!!!

My writing journey

Last Saturday, I attended my third writing workshop.  I love going to these workshops — meeting authors, agents, and editors.  Often, I walk away astounded by the amount of new knowledge I have ingested.  One of the things I walked away with this time was how important it is to have a “platform, like yesterday”, even though my book is not yet published.  So, here I am, with a new twitter account, a new website, and soon to be, an author’s page on Facebook.
