I cannot even begin to describe how much fun we are having. We have now met three times and each time I walk away speechless, amazed, and EXCITED! It is beyond obvious that there are writers in this room. I wish everyone could be a fly on the wall to catch these amazing moments. Over the holiday, a teacher read my manuscript. She loved it so much that she is forming the Seas Apart Book Club with a group of 5th graders. We will talk to them about the writing process, character development, editing, and publishing. I am over-the-moon excited. What a wonderful way to get feedback from my intended audience and for them to learn about the writing process at the same time. It’s a win-win and I cannot wait to get started!!!!

Last Saturday, I attended my third writing workshop. I love going to these workshops — meeting authors, agents, and editors. Often, I walk away astounded by the amount of new knowledge I have ingested. One of the things I walked away with this time was how important it is to have a “platform, like yesterday”, even though my book is not yet published.
